AMA
Reader Comments (5)
The AMA does not speak for me, and I am embarrassed to say that I am affiliated with this group. It is inconceivable that they have endorsed this plan which will result in systematic and widespread mediocratization of medicine.
The AMA is as bad as the current administration. It is obviously filled with the same parasitic bureaucrats that fill offices in Washington. Any doctor who actually works for a living should resign from the AMA immediately and demand a refund on the remaining dues, then join AAPS!
Obama's remark that a pediatrician would recommend a tonsilectomy to make money for himself shows he is clueless when it comes to the practice of medicine. It only demonstrates that corrupt Chigago politics and fee splitting is his standard of care. AMA take note.

Dear Sirs and Madams:
I have been a member of the AMA in years past, but realized with their lack of effort to protect us from the unfunded mandate of the HIPAA legislation, that they no longer represented the best interests of physicians who take care of patients. I gave up my membership 4-5 years ago as a result of HIPAA implementation.
This most recent egregious act on their part (as well as that of the American College of Surgeons) is a clear declaration of war against physicians and the patients they are sworn to protect. They view patients not from a personal, palliative point of view, but rather only as a theoretical economic concept.
I believe we have a Sacred, sworn Hippocratic duty to protect the sick and infirmed against all ills, both physical and political. I add my voice to yours in protest against the AMA and the Government take over of medicine. I believe we should seriously question the ACS' motivation as well. Access to treatment and physicians must be the patients' choice and it is our duty to be their advocates. Care must not be denied and patients must not be discarded, simply because they are not considered a valuable or productive member of society, whether the patient is elderly, disabled or an infant.
The AMA and the government are on a dangerous slippery slope – who will be denied care and allowed to die next...those who disagree with them or have different religious or political views? The AMA was designed to serve physicians and the Government its citizens, not the reverse.
Sincerely,
Frederick A. Kuhn, M.D., FACS
Dear All,
I am not in the medical field. My daughter is an RN however and I am very thankful that she cares enough for others to have chosen to serve people this way. She is very good at what she does because she believes the patients are the priority when they are in her care. I admire that about her and all medical professionals that put the patients care first. I have a great Physician that treats me as a co-discion maker in all of my medical needs. I appreciate that very much and do not want an insurance policy dictating whom I choose for my health care.
I believe that if this government imposed, socialized medical hogwash gets past, we will become the inhuman race. I and my fellow citizens will become nothing more than numbers. our medical professionals will be depleted as they get bogged down in the red tape and the.utter disscust it will cause them.
I am truely thankful to hear and read about the physicians and medical professionals that are taking a stand agenst this travisty. I am especialy happy about the wake up call on the AMA. I have thought that they were a problem for a long time.
I hope and pray that more medical professionals get involved and take action as many of you have done here. I will inform my hometown clinic of this and pass this pettion around to them.
I know we can defeat this nonsense but it will mtake all of us working together. Thank you so very much for informing us in this manner. Keep up the good work.
Let us not grow weary in well doing. Wake up, AMERICA!
Sincerely,
Diane crouse
