Even if you do not live in Nebraska...
Send a message to Senator Ben Nelson expressing your position on his flip-flop. If you intend to help any opponent he may have in his re-election, you might mention that in your letter.
We will deliver the letters to Sen. Nelson’s office before the vote tomorrow.
Guidelines for letters:
- BRIEF: Preferably no more than 600 words, that can be read out loud in about a minute.
- “SIGN” YOUR LETTER: Even though you are filling out an online-form, please include your customary signature in the body of the letter. We are using the name and address forms to sort them.
- PERSONAL, EMOTIONAL & SPECIFIC For example, Doctors, if you are concerned about access to care for seniors, please give an example.
Instead of “I’m worried that my senior patients won’t get the care I think is best for them” try “I have an 87-year-old woman who told me last week that she is so scared about cuts in Medicare that she can’t sleep at night” or “Already, I have had to cut my Medicare services by 50% or else I cannot take care of my other patients as well.”
They do not need intellectual analysis of the bill – they need your personal stories and reactions.
