Speaker Pelosi tells Democrats to sacrifice their careers for “healthcare”
Monday, March 1, 2010 at 9:52AM by aaps In an interview on ABC’s This Week, Nancy Pelosi was asked about the real fear many Congressmen have of losing their seats if they vote for the unpopular healthcare bill. She said: “They know that it will take courage to pass health care. But why are we here? We’re not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress. We’re here to do the job for the American people….”
The three fixes proposed by Obama at the Feb 25 Blair House summit, she said, are to improve affordability for the middle class, and thus access; to close the “doughnut hole” in the Medicare prescription drug benefit; and to eliminate the “Nebraska fix” to give “equity” to all the states in paying for the Medicaid expansions.
When asked whether it might have been helpful for Obama to put his ideas on the table months ago, before they had fought so hard for the public option he is willing to eliminate, she said that the problem of keeping insurance companies honest had been fixed.
“Left to their own devices, the insurance companies have done harm to the American people. They need to be regulated,” she said. That means federal regulations in addition to the myriad state regulations. The goal is affordability; the means is to prevent denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions. The effect of guaranteed issue—huge premium increases—was not brought up in the interview.
Pelosi did not answer the question of whether she has 217 votes, nor did she address the question on the abortion coverage dispute.
The House, she said, is now working on legislative language, which is supposed to make everything clear. More than Republican amendments are included, she said, making it effectively a bipartisan bill even if no Republicans vote for it.

Isn't it funny that Pelosi says they are there to do the job for American people. Does it matter to her WHAT the people want? What the people demand? What the people are clearly calling out for? Heck no. They are hellbent on shoving this bill down our throats despite what 'we the people' are screaming for. And why? What is so wrong with starting over so this can be done correctly? What is their hidden agenda? There is no other possibility for this nonsense!
Apparently it does not matter to Obama, Pelosi or Ried what the people want. I think it's time for impeachment. Get the socialist out of our government Get back to government for the people, by the people and of the people.

Ms Pelosi obviously thinks that the Democratic Congressmen (theres an oxymoron) will be willing indeed delighted to end their careers like lemmings marching off a cliff in lockstep to whatever song she happens to be singing. Jim Jones could have used her not to drink the koolaid but to serve it to the kids. Each day these traitors flip the American electorate the bird and ask us all to be grateful for the disrespect. Our duty in 2010 will be to put these miscreants on the unemployment line and make sure lame duck Barry is chained to the tenets of the constitution, Sotomaior not withstanding.
Pelosi and this monstrosity of a Health Care bill all make me sick. The only medicine that I need is for this government run HC plan to go away and be looked upon as a bad memory. Pelosi needs to also go away, get out of the people's AF jet, jump on her broom and let us see her backside fade into the night.
We have let them lead in an unconstitutional way for too long. We need to reel them in fast!
I have often wondered what we the people could actually do if a couple of our top leaders in Washington developed mental problems. Perhaps asking some of their colleagues to go KAMAKAZI in order to enforce their objectives.

They have had over nine million pink slips putting them on notice about this since the issue first came up, not to mention millions of Americans speaking out against it at both town halls and T.E.A. Parties across America. They will NOT be able to imply that they were taken by surprise when they end up in the unemployment lines after November 2nd this year due to their lack of responsiveness to their employer, We the People! This will be the swiftest take back of America by the GOP since Newt led the revolution in the nineties - NOW we'll get change we CAN believe in! It's fulfilling the declaration made in the lrics of a recent hit by the incomparable Ray Stevens' , "you vote for ObamaCare, WE'LL VOTE YOU OUT OF THERE!". AMEN to that!
Hey Ross, prayer will certainly help in this situation, but we need to keep pounding away at these people that they're standing in our way and we just won't tolerate that. Everybody get your voter registration updated and be ready to vote the culprits out this year. There's strength in numbers. We can all do this if we stand together. I for one will not put up with living in a socialist state just because Nancy Pelosi says so. I will not stand back quietly and let these people ruin my country. We're all smarter than these politicians and we know far better than they do how to manage our health care. Sounds like they need to be reminded for the umpteenth time.

They have been thumbing their arrogant noses at the 9th and 10th amendments. The Constitution says that the government - meaning those in the White House clan - can NOT govern our health care, banking, buy-out companies or do these outrageous "stimulous
' packages. It also says that King Obama & company do not have the right to mess with schools, our land or our homes. In all of theConstitution the fed has little power - the rest belongs to individual states. The King wants to rule - like Hitler - and taught the mannefesto of the communists - the equivilant of our Bill of Rights. He should be tried for treason, along with his side kicks Pelosi and Reid. BUT, we have to find Senators with guts enough to push it forward - just like his questionable citizenship. He needs to find the door - along with his buddies. One more thing.. I hated seeing the Dali Lama leave out the back door - and then hear the front dor was wide open to those that have been trying to take "In God We Trust" off of our buildings and currency. It says a lot for where his beliefs are...
Pelosi is a far left radical who does not care for America or her people. Heck she doesn't even care for her own party! Unfortunately she is not up for re-election this November but she will no longer be the speaker after Nov. 2nd. If you watch her in interviews she takes this wild eyed look to all of us as I Know Best you little people nazis. No unfortunately there is no one in D.C. who has a back-bone to bring the impeachment/treason on the table. We are not going to survive until 2012 to get Obama out of office. He has borrowed so much money from so many countries & keeps spending it like they are going to continue loaning to us. Look what is going on in Greece. Obama is trying to turn us into a international country to connect with all the other countries financially & universal health care where you are allowed to die if they cannot get to you right away. Rationed, socialized, government run health care is not Constitutional. I want America to stay sovereign & take care of Americans freedoms & rights. Obama & his administration & czars have got to go. Pelosi, Reid, & Biden have to go, also. The unions are going to have to go, especially Stern of SEIU, the UAW who is responsible of helping the downfall of GM & Chrysler. General Electric who kept dealing with Iran & are getting government contracts & are on the Deficit Panel. The czars are all radical, socialist, communist & Marxist that Obama has put in charge of so many things & answer only to Obama. Maybe we should tar & feather the entire bunch.

They need to get rid of Pelosi and they would save a lot of money to start with and then get rid of all those that keep taking money from Social Security for their pet projects and the ones that cut Medicare so that doctors won't take us now. I say clean house next election.
Pelosi is up for reelection there must be someone in her district to chalange her int the primary we want SF back into the USA too. they can be different but they want the freedom to be different. At the rate the executive branch is taking over they too will be serfs.
D Day has happened. Reversability will depend on total defeat of the current administration. Aging physicians will retire asap. Young physicians will stop seeing Medicare patients. The 20% reduction makes it impossible for any physician to make a living. This is a sad day for the American People.
Pelosi shows either her ignorance or her arrogance...not sure which...maybe both, when she states: “They know that it will take courage to pass health care. But why are we here? So, let's analyze this: She is suggesting that her fellow congressmen have the "courage" to what? Go against the popular American opinion that most of us DO NOT want this garbage health care plan of hers & Obama's. That isn't courage...that is what you call NOT doing your elected duty to do the will of the people! The congressmen that she wants to sacrifice their careers by being "courageous" enough to do the will of Pelosi...not their constituents! That is what she is asking for. Does she even know what her job is? Does she realize her duty is to us!!! The majority...not the minority of votes...that is democracy! She is either the most ignorant imbecile to ever have sat in that seat of speaker, or she is an arrogant moron with absolute power hunger who wants it her way regardless of what her constituents want. Either way, she should NOT be in office...let alone speaker!!!
I agree it is time for impeachment. What does this President have to do to get impeached? Hasn't he don't enough harm to our country? What is his true agenda? None of the democrates are interested in listening what the people want. How many times do we have to say KILL THE BILL or start over? I truly believe this is all deliberate and our mighty leader wants to make this a third world country and he wants to be the ruler.
