FIGHT AGAINST GOVERNMENT MEDICINE MOVES TO SENATE

CALL YOUR SENATORS ON MONDAY TO TELL THEM YOU EXPECT THEM TO VOTE "NO" TO GOVERNMENT RUN MEDICINE.  Also, call your Representatives to let them know how you feel about their vote on Saturday.

CLICK HERE TO find your Senators' and Representative's phone numbers as well as a list of other targeted Senators it is important to contact: http://www.freedomworks.org/call-congress.

Thank you for your work yesterday against H.R. 3962.  Get ready for fight in Senate.

Thank you to all of you who kept the pressure on Congress yesterday with your phone calls, email, and faxes.  The fight is not over.  We are going to need your help to fight even harder in the Senate to stop government medicine.

Call your Senators on Monday to tell them you are counting on them to help stop government medicine.  CLICK HERE to get your Senators' phone numbers as well as a list of targeted Senators.  Also call your Representatives to tell them how you feel about their vote on Saturday.

In the meantime we are continuing to assist in the battle at the AMA meeting in Houston to get the AMA to do the right thing and support patients and doctors and not government medicine.  An emergency resolution to rescind the AMA's support of the Pelosi bill may make it onto the agenda on Sunday.

AAPS Director of Policy and Public Affairs, Kathryn Serkes, was on the ground yesterday in Houston for the "AMA Shout-Out" rally and has sent in the following report:

AAPS Board of Directors member Juliette Madrigal Dersch, spoke to the large crowd gathered for the Tea Party Express stop at the Sam Houston Race Park.  She told them how her patients are better served because she does not let the government and insurance companies tell her what is best for her patients.  Click here to see photos of Dr. Madrigal-Dersch speaking at event.

Back in downtown Houston, outside the AMA meeting, about 150 people chanted, yelled, and talked for almost 2 hours and 3 television stations came out to report on the event. (We will pass footage along as it becomes available.)  David McKalip, M.D.  took a break from the AMA meeting and spoke to the assembled crowd.   The AMA staff was on lookout through park for the hour or so beforehand checking out what we were up to.

The one casualty of the day was our Take Back Medicine sign, which mysteriously disappeared from the tree it was attached to.
Stay tuned...

It is more important than ever that medical professionals speak out - LOUDLY - against the destruction of America's health and the eventual demise of their profesison.

PLEASE get involved with the national Million Med March in your state at noon on Nov. 21. In PA, we're marching and rallying in Harrisburg at the State Capitol.

There are simultaneous demonstrations in many other states - visit the MillionMedMarch website at www.millionmedmarch.com to get details about events in YOUR state.

Pennsylvania doctors and patients, please go to www.meetup.com/PennsylvaniaMillionMedMarch for details and to sign up!

We need to keep telling our legislators that the American people do NOT want this - and last night's vote, disappointing though it was, proves that they ARE hearing us. It can HARDLY be called a mandate, and it can't be called "bipartisan" on any planet WE inhabit.

It's outrageous how these Congress members do not listened to our voices, and had done as they please for the benefits of all of their campaign bureaucrats donors, lobbyist and friends. I hope and pray voters remember this attitude toward us taxpayers voters, as they just want to completely control our way of life at all cost and take our all our Constitutional freedoms, which had cost plenty of blood shed by our founding fathers and our generation serving the country. Most of the members in this administration do not seem to appreciate their freedom at all, by making decisions that will devastate our country and hurt all the citizens. These members do NOT deserved to be in the seat of power elected for, what they had done is a complete disservice to our nation and its citizens. We must clean house completely on the next election by electing honest, responsible and with moral principles candidates who will be dedicate to do what will help our country be successfully restored from the catastrophe Obama and his clowns of his administration had done to all of us and the nation. Americans must wake up before it's too late. We do not need a government run enterprise which will destroy our great country. Government never had been able to do anything right for 8 month already! the only thing they know is to
waste our tax dollars, in it they are All experts! God Help us with wisdom to take our country back and keep it safe for all the darts of the evil doers!

It is clear that the one thing that must be hammered home is that the AMA does not represent the over whelming majority of doctors in this country. I even wonder, of the approximately 17
of docs who do belong how many actually support this government takeover going on in DC?
Keep up the pressure and you will see the AMA fold like a cheap camera as they invariably do when confronted by any substantive issue.

I am stunned by the outcome of this vote.... It is obvious that our legislators are not REALLY listening to wha the PEOPLE are saying to them.

This government - "of the people, by the people, for the people" is not paying attention to the needs and wants of the people....

Trillions of dollars more to be paid for "by the people" --- people who are in desperate need of jobs....

What is in this Obama/Pelosi Health Care "Reform" Bill does NOT reflect the wishes of the people. This is not about the ppeople - This IS about Obama , and total government control of the lives of the PEOPLE of our nation...

This is so sad.

God bless America.

And now, we the people must take our message of FREEDOM too the Senate of the United States of America. We pray that our SENATE WILL LISTEN AND ACT FOR THE PEOPLE.

We do NOT want or NEED this obamanation....

This is another move by the Marxst in our government to seek total power over the people. It is a power grab, pure and simple!!!

We definately have to start campaigning for a strong third party now! Our current representatives are not listening to us and certainly have a hidden agenda to eliminate the middle class and to turn our country into a socialist society.

I'm pretty torn on the health care bill. Republicans have really disappointed me, it would have been really good if we could have included talking to patients about end of life issues and getting reimbursed specifically for that discussion. I think more physicians would have started to have those conversations. It's unbelievable that most people are on hospice for 2 weeks at most. But I must say that Democrats also have disappointed me. Liability reform is such an important way to cut costs but also to re-establish the physician-patient relationship. European countries haven't seen the damage done to that relationship like we have in the American because of litigation. It would take several years for us to see the ultimate effects but it would save a lot more dollars than anyone predicts.

ANyone that think for 1 mico minute that this is free healthcare has no brain cells. This will ultimely cost upwards of 2 TRILLION dollars folks!!!! This is NOT about wanting to give us healthcare!!!!! Itg is ALL about taking OVER our choices, our freedoms. The government can't run the Post Office, so HOW in the world do you think this is going to turn out?? In Canada where I lived for 5 yrs. the quality of healthcare is poor, or why would so many Canadians come over here for much needed operations. There are people on waiting lists for over a year or more. Now if that is how long they wait there, with more people in the state of California where I live, than in the entire country of Canada, not counting the rest of the USA then how long do you think our waiting list would be?? And who do you think would be the LAST to get taken care of, is of course seniors & the disabled. As we are used up, so we are not a priority by NO MEANS. This is a straight SHOT at SOCIALISM & NEW WORLD ORDER. Wake UP AMERICA, before WE THE PEOPLE have no voice or rights!!!!!
